JULY 8, 9, 10, 2011, Noon to 11pm
Xwáýxway (Brockton Oval, Stanley Park), Vancouver
Free admission
Other Sights for Artists’ Projects is pleased to announce that Digital Natives will be included in the TIME-BASED video program, as part of SummerLive at Brockton Oval in Stanley Park, Vancouver. This free event will feature outdoor music stages, family entertainment, sports activities, performing and visual arts and First Nations history and culture. Adapted to this new site and context, the Digital Natives messages from our contributors and members of the public will be presented throughout the weekend event on two large LED screens, adjacent to the music stages. The TIME-BASED program, curated by Marlene Madison, includes historical documents, archival film and video, performative works, animation, experimental film, a literary program and contemporary video. TIME-BASED takes its cue from its unconventional site, screening works that reference nature, recreation, culture, and the urban landscape, and will show works by a range of artists and filmmakers in collaboration with a number of Vancouver organizations and archives.
The Time-Based program is available here.
